The Calico Tanks trail is probably the most popular trail in the Red Rocks Canyon Conservation Area. The entire hike offers stunning vistas of sandstone cliffs as you slowly make your way up a low wash to reach the tanks. The cliffs soar above you in a multi-colored array of vaulted domes. You'll marvel at the forces of nature that gave rise to these beautiful formations! The end of the hike affords incredible views of Las Vegas spread out below you.
Ice Box Canyon is routinely ranked as one of the best hikes in the Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area, but it receives much less traffic than other trails. If you're looking to escape some of the crowds, head for this trail! Due to the lesser traffic, the route into Ice Box Canyon is much less defined. The trail splits and braids the entire way, but you can always see the objective of the canyon mouth in front of you—keep heading straight on.

The White Rock Loop runs for 6.2 miles, circumnavigating the prominent peak by the same name. This loop gets quite remote and goes well away from the crowds as it swings around the backside of the mountain, and yet with less than 1,200 feet of elevation gain, it's still a highly achievable route.
