“Waking up every day to see the sun is a great feeling,” says Inglewood-born singer Cuco about living in L.A. “The weather gives you more motivation to explore. There are so many communities and spots to see." These are his favorites places in L.A.
Less"This is a store to get all your essentials like Dickies, Levi's, Ben Davis, and fitted caps. They have a lot of L.A. gear. Fashion Town does a great job representing the Hawthorne, Torrance, and Carson areas. It is a really dope spot. The owner's amazing. Every time I go, he's just super happy to say what's up."
"This is a small joint in downtown L.A. where they have donuts on display and serve chicken sandwiches that are insanely good. I always get the Birdies Spicy here. And you must get their Oreo donuts. It’s a lot in one sitting, but it's so good. They have lots of custom donuts and great coffee. The whole environment is really sick. It’s also open pretty late the weekends so if you’ve been out dancing, head to Birdies and get the Birdies Spicy chicken sandwich."
"I love being by the water, and this is a really nice park that‘s right on the shore. It's a really nice, calm, and relaxing spot to go to. I have a lot of memories of spending time with my dad at this park. He used to take me to the marina. I'd always sit by this fountain in the park and I’d ride my bike when I was a super little kid. It’s just a nice place to go to unwind and hang out."
"Perfect Circuit is a store in Burbank where they sell synthesizers, guitar pedals, cables for modules and things like that. It's a super niche store for people who like synths and keyboards. I've bought a lot of gear here. I actually just bought a vocal pedal that came in two days ago there. It's a really nice place. You just wanna play everything that you see in front of you."
"Carneys is a train cart that got converted into a burger spot. They have great burgers and also hot dogs here. I really like an old-school burger with lettuce, cheese, and bacon. I do like to put some Thousand Island dressing over my patty. It’s the best."
"This is a really sick music store. It's actually where I bought my last guitar, a Les Paul 1974 Recording. It's a beautiful shop. TrueTone has an insanely diverse and unique amount of instruments—a lot of boutique guitar pedals, great amplifiers, and bass guitars. It's one of those low-key nerdy spots for guitar players."
"Dinos is a classic burger spot that serves one of the best burgers in all of California. It’s an iconic spot for me. I used to skate around there as a kid, and I remember going into the restaurant and seeing the big logo, a little dinosaur. Their burgers are great and really affordable. Get one of the combos: I like the bacon cheeseburger combo. It has a great seasoning that I mix with some ketchup."
"This spot is in Lenox, and they have really good meats here, like carne asada and chorizo. It's super fresh. They also have pre-made micheladas cups. I don't drink anymore, but you can pour a non-alcoholic beer in a michelada cup and you have a cool michelada. It’s pretty spicy too, and I think that’s very good."
"I like going here a lot. I have friends that that have worked there or work there now. Dover Street Market has a great selection. They have a Supreme store in there, but they also have brands like Marni, doublet, Palace, and Brain Dead. They have nice undercover pieces, and every couple of months they switch up the displays. They have a coffee shop too, and the people that work there are just super nice."
"This is a spot in Palos Verdes that I really like. It is a great area to go hiking and get a view of the ocean from the top of the hills. The park is nice to even just lay down and catch sun. The weather there is always nice even on a gloomy day. It’s the best place ever."
