Less"If you want to celebrate your birthday or have a girls' day out or come with a specific partner, even if you want to just sit at the bar by yourself, Abeautifullife just a great place. The food is Jamaican fusion. Selected days, there’s a D.J. It’s very good for large parties. And the cocktails! They probably have the best cocktails out here; they even do the tricks with smoke. Just the drinks alone are an experience. "
"The Serving Spoon is a staple in the community. Next year, they will have been open for 40 years. Whenever anyone travels to L.A., they should go to The Serving Spoon in Inglewood. They’re a neighborhood favorite. You go in for their french toast, or their pancakes, or their catfish. It's a great breakfast spot. And there’s a line! So you want to make sure you’ve got your place in line."
"Georgia's is a Southern cuisine type of restaurant. It’s great, healthy comfort food. There’s brunch on the weekend. They have a cool happy hour. I love their jambalayal it's a special treat. It is so tasty to me! Their chicken is really delicious. And they have great salads."
"Alta is a very special place. The chef has a beautiful story; he just came out with a book. They put so much love in their food; you can taste it. I love their pancakes! Those pancakes and that chicken together is so good! They just have a really good, clean menu. And they also have the best drinks! The mixologists—they have one of the best. They have a big space, so they can accomdate a large party; they even have a big area that you can rent out for corporate parties."
"Poppy + Rose is known for their brunch. It’s rooftop brunch, so you can visit downtown and have brunch on a rooftop. It's the place to go. They’re known for their chicken and waffles and their chicken sandwich. They have cocktails too: unlimited mimosas. They’re very well supported in the community."
"Post & Beam is probably my favorite out of them all! The fact that they have a violinist playing on the patio at Sunday brunch is pretty cool. This is a place where you would get dressed up and eat really well, and you’re dressed really well! You can’t go wrong with what you choose, from the pancakes to the French toast."
"Court Cafe has so many loyal people who support them, and I understand because when you go in there, their portions are huge, their burritos are huge, and they have a mimosa tower! You literally try to tackle this huge mimosa tower, or this mimosa float if you’re a lightweight, it just gets the party started. The parking is horrible but people go over there just to say that they ate at the Court Cafe."
"This is a special place beause they one of the largest selections of Black-owned wine in SoCal. It's a place for you to sip your wine and listen to a D.J., or on the weekend you can brunch. You can be surrounded by wine bottles; it’s really focused on a great brunch and some great wine on the weekend."
"Wi Jammin is another cool Caribbean fusion breakfast place. They are known for the Fruity Pebbles or Cereal Crunch French Toast. When foodies come in and take pictures, they see all these bright colors in their French toast, which is pretty cool. But it’s a Caribbean restaurant, so you’re gonna get your oxtail, you can have this huge selection of Caribbean food for brunch or for breakfast, so that’s pretty cool, and they serve it all day."
"Blaqhaus is in North Hollywood. The staff is so fun! You’re gonna get a great brunch on the weekends. You can do your hookah on the patio. The bartender makes excellent drinks. And the menu is extensive. There are a variety of things to choose from, from the shrimp and grits to the short rib grilled cheese sandwich, which is so good. Their french toast and the chicken and waffles are both delicious. it’s really really good. The bottomless mimosas will have you ordering up and drinking all day."
