In the past few years, organic and biodynamic wines have become all the rage. If that’s something you’re into then you need to head to Wilridge Winery, Washington’s very first organic and biodynamic winery. If that isn’t enough for you they also have Seattle’s oldest winery so clearly, they know what they’re doing. Head to Yakima or check out their Madrona tasting room.

If you’ve been meaning to take a trip to the islands, this is your sign. Spoiled Dog Winery is located on Whidbey Island and has an outdoor patio for tastings making it the perfect spot to enjoy views of the vineyard and surrounding forest. You might as well spend a day or two on the island because well, you’ll probably be on island time.

Frichette is Washington’s only Black-owned winery and owner Shae Frichette focuses mostly on Bordeaux-style wines. All of her grapes come from the Red Mountain AVA and she has a few different experiences that you can enjoy at the winery. Go for a private concierge tasting & tour or bring your own chair and enjoy the views of Red Mountain with a glass (or bottle) in hand.

This winery is yet another amazing spot to enjoy Red Mountain AVA wine. The Hedges Family Estate uses a “blend of biodynamic farming and time-honored winemaking techniques” to create their delicious wines. They describe it as an “ear to the earth and a voice to the vines”. Sounds worth it to check it out if you ask us.

If you want a bit of heritage then you have to check out L’Ecole No 41. This winery’s tasting room is located inside of a schoolhouse from 1915! You can enjoy their award-winning wines through both tastings and tours. You can also head into Walla Walla for a tasting experience in the Marcus Whitman Hotel if that’s more your speed.

If you’ve meaning to head to Chelan, you might as well head to Caideas Winery. This beloved winery pours Rhône-inspired wines which are of course crafted right in Lake Chelan. Just imagine sipping on a glass or two while overlooking the lake. Sounds pretty idyllic huh?

This winery is slowly transforming itself into a destination resort for all things wine. So if you’re looking for more than a day of tasting, Basel Cellars is the place to head. You can enjoy the inside of the American Lodge-inspired estate or relax outdoors. The choice is yours.

Washington’s oldest winery is a classic fave of many. They’re great to visit year-round but especially in summer for their concert series. Or if you want to keep things simple, you can just head in to enjoy a tasting. Regardless of what you choose, we’re sure you’ll love it.

Visiting Maryhill Winery is a great way to enjoy the best of both worlds, thirst-quenching wine, and the Gorge. You also can’t go wrong with this spot as it’s one of Washington’s largest and most visited, wineries. They produce 80,000 cases annually so you know you’ll be getting some consistent goodness.
