The West Coast Trail (WCT) is one of the most iconic and historic backpacking routes in Canada. From pristine sandy beaches to large rugged headlands; there’s never a dull moment on this trail.
LessThis is the start of a week long trip down the world famous West Coast Trail (WCT). As this is a through hike, you need to arrange transport to and from the trailhead. The WCT bus can pick you up from the southern trailhead in Port Renfrew and drops you off at Pachena Bay.
Day 2 on the trail is a relatively short day, but has a really good variation of terrain as you make your way to the spectacular Tsusiat Falls.
The Cribs Creek campground is a great beach campsite, you can camp on either side of the creek, although the bear lockers and washrooms are on the Western side, so this tends to be the most popular area.
Walbran Creek Campground has a good mix of tent sites, whilst it's tempting to arrive and set up straight on the beach, there are some really nice tent sites just up the creek in the forest, that are more sheltered and have really nice views.
Camper Bay is a spectacular campground, it's well worth getting here early to secure a good tent site. You get amazing views from the campground, it has a great beach and is very sheltered from the elements.
The campground here doesn't feel too remote, as you can see the lights from Port Renfew at night, but you get great views from here and it has a really nice beach too.
The home straight on a long inland trail, before the ferry returns you to civilisation & post hike celebrations. Day 7 is the final day on trail, you are less than 7km from completing one of the most iconic trails in Canada.
