11AM : Explore indigenous Mexican art at the Museo Anahuacalli. This stunning structure, built by Mexican architect Juan O’Gorman for Diego Rivera, now houses the muralist’s vast collection of pre-Hispanic art and artefacts.
NOON : Savour delicious Indian–Mexican fusion at Masala y Maíz, one of the city’s premier restaurants, open only for lunch or early dinner. Try the fried chicken with ghee dipping sauce.
2PM : Discover Mexican fashion in the Colonia Roma. Visit the Marika Vera shop to browse a rotating selection of local designers such as Alfredo Martínez and Ayanegui.
4PM : Refresh with an afternoon coffee at Buna. Then stroll to the nearby Plaza Río de Janeiro to sit on a bench and enjoy the year-round sunshine.
6PM: Have an early dinner at fashionable restaurant Contramar in Roma, one of the best places in the city for ultra-fresh fish and seafood. Don’t miss the old-school dessert tray with classics such as fig tart and a show-stopping strawberry meringue.
