The award-winning Bordeaux, Burgundian and Rhone-style wines at Becker have been served at the White House and featured in numerous publications. The vineyard offers event space, tastings, tours and even a custom cellar and private tasting room.
Lost Draw Cellars is the tasting room for Lost Draw Vineyards, which produces more than 30 grape varieties. Stop by for wine tastings paired with snacks and meat and cheese platters you can enjoy inside or on the patio. There's also a "Wine of the Month" that's always discounted by 10 percent.
Head to William Chris Vineyards for a full-on Texas wine experience. This vineyard offers tours, barrel tastings, reserve tastings and even Texas cheese. Reservations are required Friday through Sunday and are recommended during the week. Make sure to taste the climate-curated Rosé and Pét-Nat.
Soak in the Texas Hill Country at Pedernales Cellars, a boutique winery specializing in handcrafted Spanish and Rhone styles. This sustainable vineyard has been family owned and operated for generations. Check out the winemaking cellar and outdoor deck, and taste the highly regarded Tempranillo and Viognier.
Enjoy a little taste of Tuscany at award-winning Grape Creek—its wines have won over 200 medals in recent years. You can take a tour of the vineyard and new production complex via tram, and stop at the "crush pad," barrel room and cellar. Texas Wine Collective began as a collaboration of three Texas winemakers from Brennan Vineyards, Lost Oak Winery and McPherson Cellars. It has evolved into a tasting room and wine club for different wine techniques and products—like single varietal wines, eclectic blends and limited editions—from vineyards across the state. It's a great stop for an overall glimpse into the Texas wine industry.
Channel your inner Austrian at this weingarten tucked away in a small cottage in historic downtown Fredericksburg. The Pontotoc Vineyard produces vintage wines with Texas Hill Country grapes. Its wines are named after geographical locations and historical sites from the Northern Hill Country, like Smoothing Iron Mountain and San Fernando Academy.
This boutique winery is just outside of Comfort and is worth a stop if you're making your way around the wine region. Its award-winning varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Picpoul Blanc, Tannat, Tempranillo, and Souzão. Its signature grape is Tannat. The winery offers tastings seven days a week.
