The Calico Tanks trail is probably the most popular trail in the Red Rocks Canyon Conservation Area. The entire hike offers stunning vistas of sandstone cliffs as you slowly make your way up a low wash to reach the tanks. The cliffs soar above you in a multi-colored array of vaulted domes. You'll marvel at the forces of nature that gave rise to these beautiful formations! The end of the hike affords incredible views of Las Vegas spread out below you.
Ice Box Canyon is routinely ranked as one of the best hikes in the Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area, but it receives much less traffic than other trails. If you're looking to escape some of the crowds, head for this trail! Due to the lesser traffic, the route into Ice Box Canyon is much less defined. The trail splits and braids the entire way, but you can always see the objective of the canyon mouth in front of you—keep heading straight on.
The Fossil Canyon trail in the Cowboy Trails network is a popular hike thanks to its ease of access, beautiful views of Red Rock Conservation Area, and the fossils embededd in the canyon walls. The hike begins by slowly traversing a flat area before climbing steeply up the narrow canyon to reach a mesa top. If you're looking for more hiking, you can easily add on other trails in the network, too.

Even though it doesn't break 12,000 feet, this incredible mountain ranks as the 8th most prominent mountain in the USA! The 8.5-mile hike to the summit is strenuous and gains over a vertical mile in elevation, making this a truly challenging summit hike.
Mary Jane Falls is a popular hiking destination in the Mount Charleston area. The trail climbs a steep 1,043 vertical feet in just over a mile, according to FATMAP. Even though the distance is short, the dramatic elevation gain in just one mile can prove challenging for some hikers. While most of the trail is wide and well-defined, the final pitch to the falls is steep, loose, and can get eroded.
