LessRockefeller Park in Tribeca is our go-to summer hangout spot. Bustling with lawns, gardens, public artwork displays, and playgrounds, Rockefeller Park is vibrant and lively. The park has benches alongside the Hudson River and the perfect view for a summer sunset. If you're a foodie like us, you will love Rockefeller Park's proximity to the Brookfield Place eatery and other delicious restaurants in Tribeca.
A stunning view of both the Brooklyn Bridge and the iconic Manhattan skyline is what sets Brooklyn Bridge Park apart from the rest. Visitors can get to the park by subway, car, or the NYC Ferry, making it an easily accessible destination. As Brooklyn natives, our favorite pastime growing up was to enjoy the waterfront views and family-friendly activities at Brooklyn Bridge Park, including ice cream, outdoor yoga, kayaking, and playgrounds.
Central Park speaks for itself! The Great Lawn, located in the center of the park, is a great picnic spot for a large group. The park has many outdoor summer activities, including kite flying, volleyball, a tour of turtle pond, row-boating, and outdoor festivals, just to name a few. We love taking scenic strolls and enjoying an assortment of food carts near the Great Lawn. Central Park is certain to put you in an Empire State of Mind.
Our puppy, Chikoo, absolutely loves her morning strolls at Riverside Park South. Riverside Park South overlooks the Hudson River and is bustling with bikers and joggers in the daytime. The fresh air and the sound of the rippling water make Riverside Park the perfect location for a picnic date. The area is subsumed by the arts, especially given that Columbus Circle and Lincoln Center are a quick walk away.
Flushing Meadows-Corona Park is located in the heart of Flushing, Queens, a hub for the API diaspora. We grew up taking classical dance classes in Flushing and would enjoy daytime strolls in the park. It's in close proximity to diverse eateries. Corona Park is also the home of the Unisphere, a spherical stainless steel representation of Earth commissioned for the 1964 World's Fair, held in New York.
