From Thai and Filipino staples to California Pizza Kitchen’s mac and cheese, the rapper knows exactly where she’s going whenever she’s hungry.
LessThis is my favorite hangover food. I get it delivered, but when I used to live in NoHo, I used to go over there and order it. It's a really cute, quaint, tiny mom and pop restaurant. And sometimes no one's even in there, but they're so sweet. I get the tom yum seafood soup, extra spicy. It's a hot and sour soup with a whole bunch of seafood in it. I get that with a side of rice, and it just does the job for me. It wakes me right back up. I'm extra, extra spicy—extra, extra spicy.
It's on the healthier side of soul food. I did a content shoot there and their food was the topic of the show and I ended up falling in love with the food and the owner. My favorite dish from there is the mac and cheese. The fact that it's good for you and it doesn't have that much sodium in it, but it's still just as tasty, is mind blowing. ‘Cause you know, normally soul food has a lot of seasoning in it, but she's really figured out a way to still keep the flavor but make it healthy.
It's a Jamaican spot, but my favorite dish from there is their breakfast patties. I love ordering a breakfast sandwich from there. I believe it's a turkey patty with an egg and a biscuit. And I love to put grape jelly on it, syrup, and butter. It's definitely a cheat meal breakfast item because after you eat it, you have the itis. I wouldn't recommend starting your day with it if you have a busy day. It's one of those, ‘Okay, I'm gonna just have a chill day.’ type of meal.
Kusina is a comfort spot for me. I order their sinigang and it feels like my childhood. It was my favorite dish in my childhood. It's a whole bunch of veggies: you either pick fish or meat. I like mine with milkfish. It's not as spicy as the Thai restaurant’s soup, but it's sweet and sour. Because I live far from it, it's definitely a meal that I have to order beforehand because it takes a long time to get to my house, but it's well worth the wait.
That lemon pasta has a special place in my heart. One time, I ordered it five days in a row. It's just so delicious. Their broccoli is really good as well. It's one of the best seasoned broccolis I've ever tasted in my life. And the pasta…I'm a pasta girlie and I can really appreciate a pasta that's very seasoned but you can still get up and go about your day afterwards because sometimes you'll eat some pasta that gives you the itis.
Oh my gosh, Boiling Crab is my day off meal. I will order a lobster, some crab legs, and a pound of crawfish, everything super spicy, with a side of rice. And I get the butcher paper so I can really wild out at home. You put the butcher paper down on the table and pour the meal from the bags. You'll get a bag of crawfish, you'll get a bag of lobster, you'll get a bag of crab legs. I order an extra side of sauce so I can really dunk the meat in it and eat it with my rice.
I love Sushi Dan. It's really important as a college student that you don't spend all your money on food, so Sushi Dan was that affordable sushi spot that was still quality sushi. I still eat there to this day. If I have a work day in the Valley, I'll conclude it with eating at Sushi Dan. It's just trustworthy sushi at an affordable price and that always is a good deal. It's very consistent. I love the vibe there.
My favorite order is the turkey patty with a medium egg, because I like to bite it and I like the yolk to explode in my mouth. It's one of my favorite moments when that egg really explodes. So if you're ordering this sandwich, make sure you bite it the right way. Otherwise it'll really explode everywhere. I like that with the brioche bun. And that's my same, favorite order each time; it doesn't change. I'm very practical. If it tastes good, it tastes good.
I love Bossa Nova because they're open until four in the morning, and the food is consistent. I order the same three things. I'm ordering the alfredo pasta, the pesto pasta, or Manuella’s pasta. We don’t have quality food that’s open that late, unless you wanna go through a fast food drive-thru. Bossa Nova is that girl that got you when it's late at night.
I love that it's a healthy meal that can really fill you up. I've tried almost everything on their menu. Everything is really good. I love the sauces as well. So it really just depends on the mood I'm in, but if I had to pick my favorite one, it'd be the orange chicken bowl. It comes with rice, veg, and I get an egg with it. And if I'm being indecisive, I'll just order a bunch of sauces because the chicken typically comes un-sauced and then you order the sauce and then you pour it on.
