Rebecca Judd likes to live life on the go—luckily, there’s plenty to keep the Apple Music Radio presenter busy in London. Her summer wouldn’t be complete without a visit to these funfairs, food halls and roller rinks all over the city.
Less“If you love food, like me, then you’ve got to visit Borough Market! This is a place my friends and I love to go to get some fresh food, whether that’s the famous chocolate-covered strawberries, seafood, cheese or cocktails. It’s super close to London Bridge, too, so it’s a great spot to have some good food and walk around to see tourist attractions.”
“Located in North London, Primrose Hill is known for its views of the city. So if the sun is shining, I highly recommend heading here for a picnic and watching the sun set across the London skyline.”
“I only recently visited here, and I fell in love with this place! Draughts is located in the Leake Street graffiti tunnel, underneath Waterloo station. You can reserve a table for you and your friends, and you get unlimited access to their board-game library. There’s also table service, serving cocktails and food. It’s a lot of fun, so much so that before you know it, you’ve spent hours in there having the best time.”
“If you love street markets, you’ll love Portobello Market. Situated in West London, right near Notting Hill, it’s known for its food markets, vintage goods and unique finds. A day out here is always lovely, and there’s such a feel-good energy about the place—you could really walk around here for hours.”
“This is a venue that opened recently, which I visited for my friend’s birthday and we had a great time! It’s like an adults-only funfair: a place for you to feel like a kid again. They serve alcohol, and there are food vendors. You can play classic arcade games, listen to music, drink, eat and have an amazing time.”
“I always enjoy going to Canary Wharf; something about it always gives me the summery feels. I recently discovered a place called Market Halls, which is a hub for food and drink. So, if you’re overdue for a meeting with friends and don’t feel like going to a spot where it’s super busy, I’d hit up this place. They have DJs and live music somedays too!”
“If you love roller-skating, this is the place for you! Or if you’re like me and you can’t skate, you’ll still enjoy it here. It’s in the heart of West London, and it’s the best place for a good time and a laugh with your friends or family. With DJs playing on the weekend, you can have fun, eat some food and chill out.”
“Located in Shoreditch, Brick Lane market is where I’d always go growing up to browse or buy vintage clothes. It’s full of so much life and energy! You’ve got plenty of food options, too, from food stalls to bagels to curry houses. Not only that, if you’re there on a Sunday, whilst you’re in Shoreditch, feel free to walk to Columbia Road flower market.”
“Putt in the Park is in the heart of Battersea Park, and if you love some Top Golf, you’ll enjoy this. It’s available to all ages—I took my nephew and he loved it! You can grab a bite to eat there too. After you finish, why not walk over to Battersea Power Station pier and hop on the Uber boat across the Thames into Central London?”
“Kew Gardens is located in South West London. The Royal Botanic Gardens houses an extensive collection of plants and is filled with history. So, if you’re into your science or history, or even a lover of nature, this is a must place to tick off your list!”
