Less"North Carolina is known for its parks, so Umstead is one of many, but it’s large. They have beautiful hiking trails if you wanna hike, and trails if you wanna bike, and other activities. If you wanna get into nature and have a day to exercise or just be one and ground yourself, and get some clarity or good air, Umstead is a place for you to go. In fall, it’s just a beautiful time to be outside and be with yourself or your group and enjoy nature."
"This place used to be where food trucks would line up in downtown Raleigh. Now, many of those vendors have their own spots in this building. It’s like a big food court, but with unique foods. Great for taste testing or when you’re with a group and everyone wants something different. It’s also a way to support local businesses. So, yeah, check it out if you’re in the area and want to try some cool local eats."
"Five Star is my favorite restaurant in Raleigh. I was introduced to it through Ninth Wonder’s monthly parties here. The menu is amazing, especially for Asian food lovers. Their garlic green beans are a must-try. They’re known for “heat seeker shrimp,” but I go for vegan options now. They have a new location with an updated menu. It’s perfect for late-night eats. The music is great too, with a resident DJ playing."
"Trophy’s my second favorite restaurant in Raleigh. They’ve got the best pizzas, with so many options. As a vegan, I love the veggie pizza or make-your-own. You can get different bases, like marinara, pesto, even mashed potato sometimes. Tons of veggie toppings, and meats if you’re into that. They’ve got a nice outdoor area, spacious inside too. Beer lovers, they’ve got a bunch on tap. It’s my favorite pizza spot. Definitely check it out if you’re around."
"If you just wanna go hang out somewhere real chill, get some drinks, you go to Boxcar Bar. It’s reminiscent of old-school arcades where you have pinball machines, Street Fighter, and really classic arcade games. It’s a great place to socialize while enjoying some fun games, making it a perfect balance for adults."
"I love to visit, especially with my nephews and nieces. Great for parents who enjoy outdoor fun with kids. They have a beautiful playground, swings, and a train that goes around the park. There’s a pond to feed ducks, a snack bar for treats, and a carousel. You can even do paddle boats. It’s a great family spot with grassy areas for running around. Perfect for picnics too, whether you’re with family or on a date. Pullen Park is really cool."
"This is my number-one favorite activity that North Carolina offers. The NC State Fair is something I’ve been going to since I was little. It’s only 10 days in October. Enjoy the fair food, rides, games, and shows. Try the North Carolina cornbread and corn—it’s just butter and salt. Get a turkey leg if you eat meat, or funnel cakes. Have fun, get your face painted, pop balloons, and spin a dollar on rigged games. Just enjoy yourself!"
"Frankie’s is a place I take my nieces, nephews, or friends to hang out. It’s fun for all ages. They’ve got arcade games, Skee-Ball, a jungle gym, two-lane bowling, bumper cars and boats, go-karts for kids and adults, mini golf, and a batting cage. I love playing mini golf here with my homies. It’s a place to let loose, find your inner kid, and have fun as a group. You can really just enjoy yourself."
"CAM Raleigh is a place for contemporary artists. If you’re passionate about art and museums, and you’re looking for something edgy, fresh, and outside the box, this is the place to visit. Art enthusiasts will definitely enjoy this exciting venue."
"If you love museums, this is a great place to go. You can be inspired by art, look at art, and think about art—however you want to immerse yourself in the experience. North Carolina is home to many creatives, so visiting the museum is a perfect way to appreciate their work. Go ahead, hit the museum and soak in some art!"
