Discover some of Keiynan Lonsdale’s favourite places to hang out when he’s back in his hometown. From chilling outdoors, to great spots for food, fashion and the arts, this is Keiynan’s guide to Sydney.
Less"If you're looking for some good costumes to rent or buy for whatever event that requires an abundance of fun and sparkles, then this is ya spot. It's a Sydney gem with kind energy, and it's a staple in the community."
"I love this park, although I'm not here enough! It's so pretty and peaceful - people are just doing their thing, such as chilling, reading, playing sports, swimming, biking, tanning, or whatever. You can take a breath there. The rainbow road just tops it off, adding an extra special touch."
"The coffee is delicious and I really just seem to not be able to go there without getting two meals each time. My friends have been going to this spot since I was just finishing high school and it still has a vibe today."
"If you're like me and the craziness of Bondi is not always your thing, then this quiet haven is pure heaven. Bring your book, your goodies, your friends or your lover, and just enjoy the secret beauties of Sydney. It feels so special."
"I don't actually go to the city for dinner often. I'm not usually in this area but I can't say no to excellent Italian food. The vibe is good, the food is delicious, and the music is soooo good - whoever has been in charge of that - thank you."
"If you're dreaming of looking like a prince at your wedding one day or you just want to have some stunning evening wear for events, this is your spot. It's all made-to-measure tailoring, although they're also teasing out a ready to wear line that is all hand woven pieces, more resort wear. Their clothing really feels like quiet luxury that doesn't need to yell for attention, it just exudes taste and love for good quality."
"I love to get lost in a good bookstore, although this one is not so overwhelmingly big that you actually get lost (which is handy - haha). You can really focus here, feel where your energy is drawn to, and if you're lucky, partner your time with the right vinyl, book, or film - it's up to you and the art piece. This whole strip and street (Crown St) is another staple for Sydney, so make this one of your stops and enjoy the time."
"It's far, but it's worth it if you love dance and are looking for open classes that lean towards the more hip hop vibe. They welcome all levels of experience. I take classes here from time to time and often rehearse here because it has this real workshop vibe, which is excellent for training and refining your craft."
"Also far but oh so worth it! Eden is a delightful soul, a hard worker, and always makes everyone feel welcome. She keeps a great tone in the salon while you are getting transformed into the better you - aka, your braided hair alter ego. Hair and styles are all about energy and you'll be taken good care of here."
