Less"1.25 million square feet. That’s how massive the Macy’s on 34th Street is. One of the city’s most iconic landmarks, and the largest department store in the United States, this location was immortalized in George Seaton’s 1947 classic, Miracle on 34th Street. While fun to visit year-round, nothing compares to stopping by during the holiday season. From window displays to the iconic Thanksgiving Day Parade, you’re bound to feel a festive spirit swirl around you! All you have to do is believe…"
"Another iconic staple, and a familiar sight to New Yorkers and tourists alike! Whether you’re here to watch a concert, enjoy a comedy special, or experience the Radio City Rockettes, the spectacular neon and art deco details are always shining bright to greet you. During the holiday season, you definitely don’t want to miss the towering tree that sits proudly atop the neon signs. There’s not many other sights like this one that truly radiate the timeless magic of Christmas in New York."
"I have been a collector of records and cassettes for just over a decade, and Rough Trade is one of my favorite places to pick up new albums and releases from my favorite artists. This shop also hosts frequent artist signings, live performances, and exclusive vinyl pressings only available here. If you enjoy collecting music on physical formats, this is a nonnegotiable stop for your next visit."
"Rockefeller Center Plaza is a must-see on any trip to the city, especially during the holiday season when the tree is up! With countless shops and a variety of food and beverage options, there’s something for everyone. The plaza is also home to what I consider Manhattan’s best observatory: Top of the Rock! I highly recommend booking a visit to experience a view that feels like you’re on top of the world."
"St. Patrick’s Cathedral is one of the city’s most stunning architectural wonders, with intricate details and twin neo-gothic towers that reach far into the sky. When I was young, my family and I would often visit the cathedral along our usual route up Fifth Avenue. Even now as an adult who lives just a few blocks uptown, it’s a sight that never fails to inspire me."
"The Museum of Modern Art is my absolute favorite museum in the city! Whenever I’m feeling down or just need some inspiration, I tend to find myself here wandering the floors and soaking up as much as I can. Once you’re done, I recommend heading down to the gift shop and Design Store right across the street!"
"One of my favorite photo spots in Central Park, Gapstow Bridge boasts a near-perfect view of The Pond with the Plaza Hotel standing proudly in the backdrop. Throughout the seasons, this architectural vista transforms beautifully as the lush greens of summer fade into the bleak whites of winter."
"Joe Coffee Company is a family-owned shop founded a little over 20 years ago in the city and is dedicated to making flawless coffee served with warm hospitality. If you’ve been walking all day and are in desperate need of a latte or sweet treat, this is the place for you! Plus, for a limited time, you can grab your copy of my 2025 New York City Calendar right here."
"This breathtaking, 13-story residential building sits along Seventh Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. It was constructed in the French Renaissance style and finished in 1909. In more recent years, the interior has been renovated; however, the exterior preserves its intricate and historic architectural details that are just begging to be captured."
"101 Spring Street is the cast iron that is home to the Donald Judd foundation and one of my favorite buildings to photograph. The appearance of the facade can change depending on the time of day, season, and weather. In the summer light it can appear dark grey, but in the winter, it takes on a light bluish color. With a facade that faces southwest, you’re almost guaranteed good light to capture the perfect shot, no matter the time of day."
