Doe Boy’s love for Cleveland runs deep. “I want people to respect Cleveland just like they do other cities in the world,” the hip-hop sensation says. “I feel like we deserve it.” Here’s his list of places that will turn you into a fan.
Less“That’s my first stop when I’m hungry in Cleveland. It’s a fast-food seafood spot, and my favorite dish is the Wolfie Bowl. It comes with rice, shrimp, crabmeat, lobster meat, sausage, potatoes, and corn, all topped with a delicious sweet Cajun sauce. It’s probably the best sauce I’ve ever had on any crab dish. I definitely recommend it, and since it’s fast food, it’s already made and ready to go.”
“This is one of my favorite places to go when I’m in the city. I love sitting courtside. I love Dan Gilbert, the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the whole team. Everything about the Cavaliers is great. It’s definitely a place that I recommend you visit if you come to Cleveland. It’s one of the top places to go. I was here a few months ago and of course I saw my team win.”
“Filter is a lounge. It’s pretty cool because they have a new thing called Filter After Dark where they stay open late, but it still has a lounge vibe. It’s upscale and the food is great. I recommend the lamb chops. It’s best around 7–9 p.m. They recently started staying open late, but it’s more of an RSVP thing and not everyone can get in. It’s one of my favorite places to go. I went there every night when I was in Cleveland last time.”
“Xhibition is definitely one of my favorite places to shop when I’m in the city. They have a lot of my favorite clothing brands, like Rhude and Palm Angels, and stuff like that. They have a lot of items that the mall doesn’t have. So I would recommend that you go there if you want to shop and you’re into the urban fashion scene. They also have local Cleveland designers there. When you walk in, it’s going to be set right on the table. That’s going to be the first thing you see.”
“Even though over the years the Browns have had a losing record, I don’t think anyone has failed to notice that the Browns have the best fan base. No matter what, we’re going to stick beside our Browns, and the energy of our Browns fans is unmatched. Every time you go there, it’s going to be sold out. The Dawg Pound is different from any other sports team in the NFL, so I definitely recommend that you go to the Browns’ field and check out a game.”
“The House is, well, kind of ghetto. I recommend it for anyone who likes a ratchet atmosphere. If you like to kick it ratchet-style, then you’ll have a nice time there. You can pretty much do whatever you want there. They even pour liquor on the floor. It’s everything you’d expect. It really depends on whether you want to be around a bougie atmosphere. If you just want to go out with your friends, have fun, and not feel judged or obligated to spend a lot of money, then it’s a good spot.”
“Rumor is by far my favorite club in Cleveland for nightlife. When celebrities visit the city, it’s the most polished place to go. I love the staff, and there are a lot of bottle girls. The vibe is good. Even when the Kardashians were in the city, that’s where they went. When basketball players want to go out and kick it, that’s where they go. It’s one of those types of spots.”
“Here’s where the Cleveland Guardians play. Go here to have a great time and cheer on Cleveland. I actually went to a game probably a few months back. They had me throw the first pitch, which was a very cool experience.”
“Nemo’s is a liquor store in my neighborhood. If you love kicking it, I recommend it. That’s my favorite liquor store in the city, it’s right around the corner from my block, so that’s where we always go. My favorite drink right now is Lobos 1707, but previously it was Casamigos.”
“Grille 55 is a more upscale restaurant and also has a lounge vibe. It’s a popular destination, especially for their delicious lamb chops. They are in competition with Filter, I would say. But if someone wants to go somewhere to eat late at night, Grill 55 is the place to go.”
