Hello, Vancouver! Happy hour in Vancouver can be a delicious and very cheap affair, so why not do some exploring? And, we’re here with some great places to start. Here are just 9!
LessWe’re kicking things off with one of our favourite spots to grab a drink in the city- Como Taperia. And while dinners here are fantastic, we have to hand it to them for making happy hour memorable. In addition to great deals on authentic drinks (think vermouth and cava), various tapas dishes are also offered free of charge.
Di Beppe Caffe has been a great addition to the Gastown neighbourhood for some time now, in part because of the great happy hour deals. On warmer days, swing by for classic cocktails like a negroni or an Aperol Spritz, while munching on Italian antipasti dishes.
How about a little happy hour to kick off the day, instead of ending it? You can’t go wrong with a trip to Medina Cafe, which offers one of the best brunch happy hour menus in Vancouver. Less money on drinks= more money for delicious waffles!
See? Here we are again with the sibling restaurant thing. While Hawksworth dominates fine dining, Nightingale brings that same quality to the happy hour world. No seriously- you can get a full wood-fired pizza for $15 and a sleeve of Main Street brand beer for $5. That’s seriously competitive pricing and just a taste of the menu.
The Colony has really nailed the vibe of an approachable neighbourhood bar while it expands around the city. And, that theme stays the same with their happy hour menus. Consistently delicious, with tons of options to choose from, we can see why this used to be the meetup bar of choice. And, we’re sure it’ll return to that status as things get back to normal, whenever that is.
We couldn’t write a guide to happy hour and forget about Mexican cuisine. We’re major fans of La Mezcaleria, especially since they offer single-servings of their unbelievably decadent queso fundido dish. Pair one of those with a margarita or two, and you’ll be in heaven.
While they don’t have the best drink deals in the city, Joe Forte’s does have a very competitive food menu. Who would have thought that at one of Vancouver’s most prestigious restaurants you could get oysters for $1.50? Not us, that’s for sure.
Speaking of great deals on seafood, we can’t forget about this iconic spot. The Kits location of Chewies has one of the most diverse happy hour menus in Vancouver, ranging from fresh-shucked oysters to andouille poutine and an array of drinks to go alongside it.
While the Keefer Bar has stopped offering happy hour deals, its new concept next door has stepped up to the plate. Head down to this outdoor bar (with mini-putt!) and enjoy some of the tastiest cocktail creations in the city, at a serious discount.
