7AM: Start the day with a sun salutation on the beach. Bring a towel and wear comfy clothes for sunrise yoga at the 3rd Street life-guard shack.
9AM : Catch breakfast at the newly rejuvenated News Café and watch as South Beach groggily shakes off last night’s mischief and slowly comes alive again.
10AM: Walk in the grounds of the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens to marvel at this 100-year-old Renaissance-style villa and its romantic setting. Built as the winter estate of millionaire John Deering, today it is a National Historic Landmark.
NOON : Swing by the Fredric Snitzer Gallery, one of the city’s top spots for showcasing homegrown contemporary artists like Hernan Bas and Vickie Pierre.
1PM: Lunch at Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink. Be sure to book a table outside to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. Chef Michael Schwartz has become a fixture in the Design District, with three restaurants under his genuine brand, all using local produce.
3PM : Stroll between the neighbourhood’s many boutiques spotlighting both modern and classic interior design, including Minotti’s distinctive Italian furniture collections.
4PM: Support local artists with a visit to the De la Cruz Collection. Rosa and Carlos de la Cruz created this museum in the Design District to show their collection and create opportunities for artists. Then head next door to the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami where the emphasis on the avant-garde continues. There you'll find cutting-edge work by Miami's own Mark Handforth amidst the sub-tropically serene sitting.
5PM : Keep your shopping on the artisanal side at Carolina K, whose hand-woven and crocheted dresses and jumpsuits marry environmentally conscious business principles with colourfully dazzling designs.
6PM : Back to the each for a relaxing massage at the Eden Roc hotel’s Esencia spa, topped off with a rejuvenating dip into one of their cold plunge pools.
8PM : Settle in at Joe’s Stone Crab for a luxurious dinner of stone crabs freshly caught in the Keys and formally served by tuxedo-clad waiters. Top it off with a thick slice of key lime pie, arguably the finest in not just Miami but the world.
