7AM: Gaze at a beautiful Californian sunrise from the rooftop of the Pendry West Hollywood and swim in the pool and admire the breathtaking view of the city.
9AM : Breakfast at Urth Caffe Melrose. An institution in the Melrose neighbourhood, frequented by all the local celebrities, and which appeared in several episodes of the series Entourage. It’s the best place to grab a breakfast burrito, a bowl of acai or organic oatmeal.
10AM : Wander through the alleys of the Original Farmer’s Market, the cult Los Angeles food market, where you can find fresh fruit and vegetables, taste American Pie, buy a bouquet of flowers or a bottle of French wine.
11AM: Venture under the sphere of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, the new museum dedicated to film. Contemplate the hills from the rooftop terrace and wander through the many galleries and exhibition spaces of this new LA attraction.
1PM : Stop at Jon & Vinny’s. This Californian-style spot serves pizza and vodka fusilli in a minimalist setting, against a backdrop of hip-hop and US hits. The back room serves as a wine cellar, perfectly stocked by Helen Johannesen.
2PM : Stroll down Beverly Boulevard looking for home-decoration pearls, stopping at Heath Ceramics (no. 7525), Garde (no. 7410), Gibson (no. 7350), Nickey Kehoe (no. 7266) and Mister Freedom (no. 7161).
4PM: Do some shopping in a temple of fashion and design, Just One Eye, located in a huge art gallery with works by Takashi Murakami, Damien Hirst and even Brad Pitt. Then grab a coffee at the nearby café, Tartine.
6PM : Watch the sunset from Barnsdall Art Park, east of Thai Town and a continuation of Los Feliz. A panoramic view over the city is complemented by its neighbour Hollyhock House – the first house designed by the architect Frank Lloyd Wright, which is now classed as a Unesco World Heritage site.
7PM : Have a glass of wine at Alcove Big Bar, a café with a terrace and a zinc bar, where you can order a spritz, matcha martini, rosé wines and mocktails. Alternatively, try the piano bar at the Dresden, where singers and musicians perform live on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
8PM : Book a seat at Saffy's, at the counter or opposite the kitchens. Inspired by Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine, chefs Ori Menashe and Genevieve Gergis serve up delicious wood-fired shawarma and dish kebabs. A delight on a plate.
